Terms of Service

Last updated · July 16, 2026

These terms govern the use of Shareathon (a product of Hogwild Fundraising LLC) by organizations, admins, students, supporters, and donors. By using the platform you agree to them.

1. Who can use Shareathon

Shareathon is built for schools, clubs, churches, youth programs, nonprofits, and the adults who administer them. Each organization must have a designated adult administrator who is 18+ and has authority to act on behalf of their organization. Students under 13 may participate only with admin approval and never have their personal information published.

2. The 80/10/10 donation split

Donations are processed by our payments partner Stripe. Every campaign uses the same split, every time: 80% to the campaign organization, 10% to the Share Fund, and 10% retained by Hogwild Fundraising LLC to operate the platform. The Share Fund 10% is a group-to-group referral share: it is paid to the organization that invited the campaign's organization onto Shareathon, for as long as that inviting organization remains active on the platform. Attribution is one level only — an organization does not earn from groups invited by the groups it invited. Where there is no eligible inviting organization, the 10% remains in the Share Fund pool. No individual — including the campaign admin, sponsor, or any student — receives a personal percentage of their own campaign's donations.

Donors cover the card-processing fee at checkout, shown transparently on top of their gift. This keeps the organization's 80% whole. The platform's 10% covers ACH payouts, hosting, support, and ScriptureGrams. Organizations are not charged monthly or setup fees.

3. Sharer thank-you (gift cards)

Campaign admins may optionally switch on a gift-card thank-you for participants while creating a campaign; the choice locks once the campaign is published. When enabled, any participant who raises $500 in verified donations through their own personal share link earns a flat $20 digital gift card, repeating at every $500 tier. Hogwild Fundraising LLC pays for the gift card in full as a referral thank-you — the cost is not passed to the campaign organization or the donor, and no portion of it is deducted from the organization's 80%. Gift cards are delivered by email through our gift-card issuance partner once the provider relationship is finalized; until then, sharer earnings are tracked and issued retroactively once issuance is available. The sharer is not an employee or contractor of Hogwild Fundraising LLC, and we make no guarantee of earnings. Unclaimed cards may revert to the platform after a reasonable follow-up window; supporters can contact us to recover an unclaimed reward. Eligibility, brand availability, and any age or regional restrictions imposed by the issuing brand apply, and recipients are responsible for any taxes owed on rewards received. Full terms are described in the Sharer Rewards Terms.

4. Payouts

Campaign funds are disbursed to the bank account connected by the organization's admin. Payouts typically settle within 2–7 business days. Recipients are responsible for any applicable taxes.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Shareathon for fraud, harassment, hate speech, illegal fundraising, or anything that endangers minors. We reserve the right to remove campaigns, refund donations, and terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Content

You retain rights to content you upload. You grant Hogwild Fundraising LLC a license to display it in connection with the Shareathon platform.

7. Liability

Shareathon is provided "as is" without warranty. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hogwild Fundraising LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to active admins via email and posted here.
